We are delighted to be hosting the Moody in England summer school, with students from the world-reknown Moody Bible Institute. In addition to MBI students, the courses are open to others*.
Each course runs for three weeks, and includes lectures, seminars and field trips taught by MBI and Redcliffe lecturers. Teaching will usually take place each morning between 9am and 12 noon. There will be occasional all-day field trips. You can choose from the following:
British Literature with Dr Rosaliee de Rosset
Reading and discussion of selected works of major British writers. There will be field trips to Stratford-upon-Avon and Oxford as part of the course.
Bible Engagement in Intercultural Contexts with Tim Davy
Explore and evaluate a number of approaches to using the Bible in different cultural contexts, both in the West and the majority world. Three main topics are examined: Bible Translation, the Bible in relation to other religions, and Bible Engagement in Western Contexts.
The History of American Protestantism with Dr Gregg Quiggle
The course surveys the development of the American Protestant tradition from the colonial period to the present. It will emphasize evangelical movements, revivals, and revivalists. Special attention will be paid to various cultural factors that helped form American religious life.
Each module costs £450 non-residential (including lunch) or £870 full-board. This includes course materials and transport for field trips.
