Abandoned Missionaries

Hi Folks,

I am trying to help a couple who have been abandoned on the field.  They are currently living and working outside the U.K. and for reasons I shall not discuss hear,  have been abandoned by their "sending church".  They are currently trying to decide what their next steps should be.  They are struggling emotionally, spiritually and of course financially.  They are independent missionaries so they are not with an agency.  They have zero finances but really need help sorting out a move back to the U.K.  If you have suggestions about jobs or housing help in the U.K.  It would be a great blessing as we try to help them move forward.

Blessings,

Ann

  • Hi Annette, I wondered how this missionary couple are doing? Has there been any progress/improvement in their situation?

  • Hi Annette,

I am so sorry I can't help practically, but just wanted to let you know I am praying for them and for you as you seek to support them.  Maybe there are some caretaker roles that would provide accommodation and a small income while they try to find their feet again?  I can imagine they will need some time and space to heal without too much demanding work.

  • Hi Annette,

So sorry to hear about this situation.  I would be very happy to try and help them with debriefing, and I do know of a few places they might be able to stay if they can make it back to the UK.  I appreciate finance is a big issue.  Once they get here they probably won't be able to get benefits for three months if they've been living outside the EU.  I would be happy to email or skype them to encourage them.

    Blessings,

    Tim
