  • Originally from England (Nottinghamshire), now in Scotland (North West Highlands)

Favourite food - hummm - lots of them to choose from .... a nice steak with all the trimmings is hard to beat, but then again so is Crispy Duck with pancakes

I like visiting China - been there twice already and going again this summer for almost 4 weeks

I really enjoy spending time with my family, hubby and 5 daughters (although the oldest 3 have now flown the nest and so there are only the 2 youngest at home)

I like watching skiing, and used to be absolutely mad about horse-riding (although I don't get the chance to ride nowadays)

This morning's breakfast was a certain "slimming" cereal - I'm seeing if the adverts are right and I can loose two dress sizes!

    1. Where are you from and where are you now?

I'm from several places in the US and am now living in Orlando, Florida after nearly 13 years overseas.

    2. What is your favourite food? (if you are now in another country, has this changed at all?)

I try to find a favourite wherever I happen to be living, and like Becky Meheffey, the chili pepper oftentimes plays a crucial role.  Having spent most of my adulthood before missions in Arizona, I like most Mexican - especially chili relleno; when I lived in Australia, I grew to crave vegemite on toast; in SE Asia, I loved Chicken in Red Sauce (Ayam Bumbu Merah/Bali); in Singapore, I head for the Indian food court for Garlic naan and whatever curry is on offer; and now that I'm back in the US?  I just discovered a new year's dish called Hoppin' John (black-eyed peas, onion, garlic, red capiscum, spring onion, italian parsley over white rice topped with shredded cheddar and [yes!] pepper sauce) - I've made it twice already!

    3. Which country would you most like to visit for a holiday?
Italy!  I want to visit all the museums and gaze in wonder at the art.

    4. What do you really enjoy doing?

I *really* enjoy sleeping in, reading, beachcombing, gazing in wonder at art (see #3 above), and I have a love-hate relationship with writing.

    5. What is your favorite sport to watch (or play)?

I love to watch the Olympic games - particularly the gymnastics.  I'm terribly clumsy and am in awe of the dexterity of those more athletically inclined than I.  I enjoy walking, hiking, but don't get out and do enough of it.

    6. What did you have for breakfast this morning?

Sadly, a mouthful of vitamins, herbs and a high-fiber drink followed by coffee a few hours later.  I LOVE a real breakfast; however, I can only afford to indulge in one rarely.

  • Thanks to everyone else who shared!
