  • Why do past events still display, and not get deleted?
I have noticed several events (even from 2009) which are still searchable, even though they don't display in the events timeline.
Please can these be automatically deleted or archived, and not be searchable when logged out?
    eg. this WEC event:
Time: January 16, 2010 all day
    Location: Wembley
    Event Type: workshop
    Organized By: WEC
    Latest Activity: Nov. 27, 2009
    • Thank you for drawing our attention to this.
It seems that NING is deleting the links (so they won't appear in the events list), but yes, the old data is still searchable.
We are looking into it and will keep you posted.

  • No, my problem is that, after I have entered an event, if I didn't indicate I wasn't attending at the time, the default is that I am attending, and I CAN'T CHANGE THAT! (At least I have yet to find where I can do that. I have searched and searched every angle. Can you guide me where I would find such a button??
    • Hi Chrissie, saldy it seems there is no such button. A bit of a NING bug!

I can suggest three alternate solutions.
      1. Disable the RSPV or
      2. Make another account as an 'organisation' and use that or
      3. Send me the details and I will post it up as OSCAR. (may take a few days though)

Not ideal but hope this helps?

  • Hi Chrissie. The way that Ning works is that the events listed under your 'my events' option are just the ones you are attending, not all the ones that you have added. The default when you add an event is that you are attending but, as you say, you can subsequently change that. That's the way the system works and there are no options for me, as the network owner, to change this ... so we just work with it. Sorry if it's a source of frustration. Please do keep us informed of WEC events, though, as it's great to know about the variety of things that you're putting on :)
