Mike, how could we put the course online using Oscar?

I am currently teaching the first module of my course: 'Leadership Excellence' in Minsk, Belarus. Today's topic: The Leaders and Opposition. Nehemiah chapters 4,5 & 6. A good day studying a vital topic with some fine students.

I see All Nations has just launched a new online Masters in Leadership and Mission

I'm travelling to Romania tomorrow and will visit several ministries led by expats and Romanian believers. I'll be trying to evaluate the level of leadership and the need for training.

An interesting idea, Mike. I'm sure Redcliffe will have a copy of Excellence in Leadership, which is based on a study of Nehemiah. I presume you know of John White through his other books.

I like the idea of an 'entry level' course, for those who just want to dip their toe in the water. I also like that it's been developed over 10 years and used in Europe, so it isn't experimental and it's born out of practice, not just theory (I presume). I've not read John White's book, but I'm sure you wouldn't have stayed with it if it wasn't good and appropriate.

Would you consider running a course online? How about using this group?

Not sure you'll get much interaction since there are only three of us linked to the leadership development area :)

Of course there is a need although for me the challenge is determining the relevance of the course material to the target. I don't remember John White's book but it may be relevant to, say, a UK audience but not to a West African audience.

So I'd give a cautious yes to the idea but with caution about the delivery and content without knowing more.

I am considering offering an introductory course for Christians involved in or thinking about leadership, either in local churches or organisations. It's a course entitled "Leadership Excellence" I have developed over the past 10 years of my work in Eastern Europe and the FSU. What do you think - is there a need for such a course, which is based on John White's IVP book "Excellence in Leadership", supported by group discussion and workshops, totalling about 20 hours.
