Comment by Claudia Smith on March 2, 2011 at 13:24: An excellent book for cooking on the mission field is 'More with Less' a world community cookbook by Doris Janzen Longacre. I've found it really helpful here in Uganda - giving me lots of ideas for cooking with basics. It's also quite a challenging read for how much we consume foodwise in the west, so I'm hoping that it is a book I'll always turn to, even back in the UK.
